Stand on a pile of broken crowns and keep going, there are still some left.
This watercolour painting with complementary contrast is one of those that I think about a lot but never really know how to execute - the idea is quite poignant so I think, maybe use one of those clean, illustrative styles like for magazines. However, I enjoy the characteristics of physical media. Or stick with the digital painting I know best? What to do, what to do. Anyway, I used watercolours on wet-stretched A3 Bristol carton - not ideal, honestly - employing a fairly blue Neutral Tone by Winsor& Newton, Daniel Smith Indanthrene Blue, and Mijello Peacock Blue, opposed by Daniel Smith Quinacridone Gold, Winsor& Newton Sepia, and Jaxon Burnt Umber. When the face became too difficult to control, I erased most of it and covered the area in watercolour medium to finish it.
I am disturbed by the idea of nobility. That people flock towards visiting royals and wouldn' t give up their monarchy is beyond me. Being ruled, in whatever capacity, by someone " chosen" for that position by the accident of birth? How is being ruled by money-havers any better?
A3, watercolours on paper.
